Overview

Citelli's abscess is an extracranial abscess either posterior to the occipital bone or within the digastric triangle. It is a complication of acute mastoiditis following erosion of the cortical bone.

History

Citelli's abscess is name after Salvatore Citè​lli (1875-1947), an italian otolaryngologist. [1]
