Formatting Guidelines
These tables outline the information that should be included in each section above for disease-related pages. The overview section is used to provide basic information regarding the disease process. There is no need to go into depth regarding the disease process here, this is more of a one-liner about the disease.
Section | Content |
---|---|
Overview | One-liner about the page that summarizes the disease process. |
History | Any relevant history of the disease process, such as first documented case or origin of the Eponymous disease name. |
The pathophysiology section is a more in-depth description of the disease process. The relevant anatomy section should include images and diagrams of the anatomy in question where appropriate. Disease etiology will likely be the most extensive section here, where the pathology will be explained in the context of patient history and relevant anatomy. The genetics and histology sections can be used to elaborate each of those relationships to the disease process as relevant, but can be deleted if not relevant. For histology, images are encouraged where appropriate.
